2015 MCAS Annual Shorebird Survey Results

Thank you, volunteer counters for your Shorebird Survey counts.  The total number counted was over 16,000!

The most birds counted were on the sand spit (area 13), the marina areas (6/7) and Morro Strand Beach,
(areas 14/15), probably due to tide conditions.

Notable birds seen were a single White-faced Ibis on the inner sand spit near the harbor entrance, and 5 American Pipits on Morro Strand Beach.
