The Morro Coast Audubon Society is pleased to announce another season of
Gloria Rasmussen, with over 35 years of observing birds in the field, will host five viewing/educational sessions at the beautiful
4th St Overlook in Los Osos. This season, thanks to a generous donation from one of our members, we will have a Celestron*
spotting scope available during these sessions.
Please mark your calendars with the following dates and times: Besides basic identification (we have 200 species of birds on our Bay during the winter), the focus of the sessions will be to understand how diverse species of birds use different segments of the estuary at certain tides and why. The 4th St. Overlook is located at the northeastern terminus of 4th St in Los Osos. On foot , walk past the guard rail at the bay-end of 4th St on a footpath, the Overlook structure will be on your right. By car , proceed to the northeastern end of 3rd St and take a right on the gravel road that will lead to the parking lot. The sessions are open to the entire community and due to their intimate nature will be appropriate for birders of all levels. Binoculars will be available for those who need them. Please see our web site for details, www.morrocoastaudubon.org or call our office: 772-1991. * Celestron spotting scopes are used by professional field biologist all over the world to read leg bands and get close-up looks at feather wear and detailed markings.
