Estuary - Chorro Creek to Los Osos Creek
Check the willows along the Chorro Creek drainage.
Check estuary from South Bay Blvd. Park in the Quarry Trail parking area and walk south up onto a bench to scope the bay - especially good for ducks at high tide. Also, parking at the intersection of Turri Road and South Bay Blvd, walking across South Bay Blvd, and scoping from the bluff above the bay can also be very productive at high tide.
Walk as much of the salicornia marsh as possible (boots). Listen for Short-billed Dowitcher (mellow “tu-tu-tu”, not the harsh “keek” of Long-billed). Check sparrows for Sharp-tailed and Swamp.
