Audubon 4th Street Overlook

NOTICE: the photo above is OLD and so was the structure.
It is being REPLACED using the same footprint as the old one.
Work is ongoing as of October 2019.
A new photo will replace the one above once the work is completed.

Here's a sneak peak into what is now going on:

Morro Coast Audubon's 4th Street Overlook was conceived in the 1960s as a place for the public to quietly observe Morro Bay and particularly the birds, which can be seen from this fine vantage point. The wooden overlook structure was built in 1974, and has served the community and visitors for over 40 years. Because the wood has deteriorated significantly, plans are underway to replace the overlook with a nearly identical structure. If permitting and fundraising efforts are successful, a new structure should be in place by end of 2019.

Please respect our overlook neighbors by keeping noise to a minimum. Smoking is not permitted.

Directions: Audubon's 4th Street Overlook is located at the northern terminus of 4th Street in Los Osos. On foot, walk past the guard rail at the bay-end of 4th Street on a footpath, the overlook structure will be on your right. By car, proceed to the northern end of 3rd Street and take a right on the gravel road that will lead you to the parking lot.
