FIELD TRIP:       High Tide at the Morro Bay State Park Marina Boardwalk

WHEN:                Wednesday, September 28, 2022

TIME:                   12:00 Noon-2:00 PM

Trip is limited to 12 participants. Signups will be taken for 24 hours. 12 participants will be randomly selected. The remainder will be put on standby status in case of cancellations.

Enjoy an afternoon stroll along the Boardwalk with MCAS Field Trip leaders Claudia Freitas and Freddy Howell to identify returning shorebirds and migrants, as well as the land birds occupying the coastal sage scrub habitat. The afternoon high tide should push the shorebirds in closer for better observation. This is a short walk of about one mile on a boardwalk and dirt path and is ADA accessible.

Bring binoculars and field guide; Hats and sunscreen are suggested along with dressing for cool and windy conditions. Restrooms are available in the parking lot beside Bayside Cafe. Rain cancels.

Experience Level: Beginner to Intermediate
