DESCRIPTION:

Explore the spectacular scenic coastline at Point Buchon with our Birding Botanist, Mike Bush. Learn about the coastal bluff vegetation and look for marine mammals, gulls, cormorants, seabirds and shorebirds -- maybe even a peregrine falcon. Bring your camera to capture the striking sea stacks that dot this coastline and peek into a dramatic sinkhole. Active three-mile round trip hike along the narrow dirt bluff trail after a  short steep walk to trail head.

Bring a hat, water, snacks, sunscreen, binoculars and field guides (if you have them) and dress in layers to accommodate wind and changing weather. Long sleeves and long pants are recommended because of thistles and other vegetation that can cause discomfort. Sturdy shoes are recommended. Restrooms are available at Coon Creek Parking area. Rain cancels.
