Audubon 4th Street Overlook

Morro Coast Audubon's 4th Street Overlook was conceived in the 1960s as a place for the public to quietly observe Morro Bay and particularly the birds, which can be seen from this fine vantage point. The wooden overlook structure was originally built in 1974, and has served the community and visitors for over 40 years. Because the wood had deteriorated significantly, plans were put underway to replace the overlook with a nearly identical structure. The new replacement structure was completed in November 2019 thanks to funding by members and Libbie Agran.

Please respect our overlook neighbors by keeping noise to a minimum. Smoking is not permitted.

Directions: Audubon's 4th Street Overlook is located at the northern terminus of 4th Street in Los Osos. From South Bay Blvd, turn west on Santa Ysabel Avenue and continue west to 4th or 3rd Street.
4th Street approach: park at end of 4th street and proceed, on foot, past the guard rail to a footpath. The overlook structure will be across a small parking lot and down a paved path.
3rd Street approach: drive to the northern end of 3rd Street and take a right on Santa Lucia Avenue, a gravel road, that will lead you to a small parking lot and a paved path to the outlook.
